How To Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind!
|
Ah the ever present battle to lose those unwanted pounds. In today's society we are bombarded with weight loss products and programs. Everywhere you look, it's low-fat this and reduced calories that. It seems every other commercial is advertising some miracle diet pill or program. Fitness clubs are opening up on every corner and new weight loss books are being published at lightening speed! Yet with all this going on around us, we are still not losing weight. What we are doing is driving our friends, family and ourselves insane! Not to mention the damage we are causing our minds and bodies with all the diets and pills. So how do we lose the weight and keep it off? I believe I have finally found the answer!
I have taken the pills, tried the diets (even cabbage soup), and spent more money than I could afford on programs. Finally one day after stepping on the scales and seeing that after a week of dieting, I had not lost one pound, I started thinking about metabolism. I knew metabolism had to do with the rate in which your body uses up or burns calories. So, if I had a higher metabolism, I would burn calories faster than I consumed them, which meant I could lose weight. So I started looking up everything I could about metabolism.
I found many pills that claimed to raise metabolism, but after all the money I had spent on diet pills already, I was hesitant to spend more. Then I found out that some foods can give you the same results. The thought of boosting my metabolism with something as natural and tasty as strawberries really caught my attention. I started eating and drinking these natural metabolism boosters along with what I normally eat, and I have started losing weight!
I found most of my information from the book "The Fat Flush Foods" by Ann Louise Gittleman, M.S., C.N.S. I recommend you read the book for full details on these foods like how to buy and prepare them correctly. If you don't want to spend the money on the book, at least look them up on the internet. If you don't prepare some of these correctly, they won't work properly and some can be harmful.
So, without further ado, I present you with a list of natural metabolism boosters!
- Apple Cider Vinegar - Flaxseed Oil
- Flaxseeds - Water
- Protein: Beef, Eggs, Lamb, Salmon, & Whey Protein - Kale
- Berries: Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries - Almonds
- Spelt - Yogurt
- Chromium - CLA
- GLA - L-Methionine
- Herbs & Spices: Cayenne, Cinnamon, Cloves, Dried Mustard, Garlic and Ginger
- Oregon Grape Root
It is still recommended that you cut back on your sugar and salt intake and it is always good for you to exercise. This doesn't mean strict diets and exhausting exercise programs. Just use less salt, less sugar and maybe take a walk around your block every day. Eat when you're hungry, don't starve yourself. Now you can snack on berries, almonds, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and more.
The point is, you don't have to lose your mind to lose your weight!

Exercise: Essential
The only absolute truth in the area of exercise and weight loss is this: Becoming more physically active will burn calories, and as long as you don't absorb those calories back by eating more, you will lose weight. Getting active and getting your muscles to burn more calories is an essential part of a weight management program. It will improve your circulation and your nervous system more than any diet could. Regular exercise can fight all signs of aging, lower cholesterol ratings and reduce osteoporosis. But the question that fuels the multi-million dollar fitness industry is, "What exercise is best?"This is a very contentious area. Mr. Weightle...(related: Weight Loss)

Ephedra Is Back - But Is It Safe?
It's been called the world's oldest medicine, the miracle fat burner, and is known in some parts of the U.S. as "Mormon tea." Ephedra (also called Ma-huang or epitonin) has been used for its healing powers for more than 5000 years by the Chinese, who discovered the plant's healing properties. So why was it banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2004, and more importantly, why was the ban recently lifted? What is Ephedra?Ephedra grows all over the world, and in the Western United States, this flowering shrub can be found in deserts and sagebrush areas. Diet Preparaton -- The Impact Of Sleep And Stress
When you have started a diet in the past, how much sincere and attentive focus did you give to preparing for your diet? Isn't it true that usually you are getting the food together a particular diet requires, buying yet another tread mill (or hauling out the old one covered in dust from the last diet), getting another gym membership, planning that last big blowout gluttonous meal you're going to eat because you are going to have to starve for the next eight weeks. The above really isn't an exaggeration. People spend a lot of time preparing everything else for their new diet program except the body...(related: Weight Loss)
Study Finds Healthy Mouth - Healthy Body Relationship
According to a new study appearing in the American Journal of Periodontology, researchers have found a significant correlation between healthy eating and healthy gums. Specifically, those people who were not overweight, consumed a nutritious diet, and regularly exercised with moderate intensity were 40% less likely to suffer from gum disease.Of the over-12,000 people surveyed, only 3% of the people possessed all three traits (not being overweight, eating a nutritious diet, and exercising regularly), but its interesting to note that as people added more of these traits to their arsenal, their periodontal health improved as well. Those people who possessed two of the traits were 29% less likely to suffer gum disease, and those who possessed only one of the three key traits were 16% less likely to suffer gum disease. In statistics...(related: Weight Loss)

"Polyols" or sugar alcohols are a number of differentcarbohydrates that are neither sugars nor alcohols--andare commonly used as artificial sweeteners in a rangeof products, from ice cream to chewing gum. While these tasty sweeteners appear to be the perfectsolution for both low-carb dieters and low-carbfood producers, recent studies of sugar alcoholshave painted a somewhat different picture. To begin with, sugar alcohols are not entirely carb-free.Most studies have indicated that sugar alcohols containapproximately 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of calories assugar--and in the form of carbohydrates....(related: Weight Loss)
